ZOOM
Tips to improve your Zoom streaming experience:
-
During the Zoom session, no one else in the household should be streaming video on the WiFi (no YouTube, Netflix, Hulu etc).
-
Except for Zoom, all programs and browsers on your device should be closed.
-
If you have an ethernet cable, connect it right from your internet modem to your computer or Smart TV. If you have an old TV, you can buy an adapter at Best Buy.
-
A higher quality webcam will help.
Please be sure to install Zoom ahead of time. If you are having trouble, visit the Zoom Help Center.
Adjust Your Settings for Tap Class
-
In the preferences/settings menu, go to the audio tab and click "Advanced"
-
Under Audio Processing, make sure "Suppress Persistent Background Noise" and "Suppress Intermittent Background Noise" are both set at "Disable"
SAFETY
Since we are not in a dance studio or on a proper sprung floor, we must all do our part in staying healthy and injury free.
Some important recommendations:
-
Do not dance in socks if the floor is slippery.
-
Sneakers should be used for hip-hop or if you are dancing on a floor that is hard (aka cement/“no give”). Please do not attempt to tap in sneakers or turn in sneakers.
-
Be extra careful if you are dancing on rug, especially when turning.
-
Most importantly, dance at your own level and pace. This is not a competition and we emphasize progress and not perfection. Safety first!
Multiple participants per session in the same house house are welcome!
